Learn how to identify over 50 plants and 10 common plant families (both edible and poisonous), so that no matter where you live or travel in the world, you can spot your herb friends and know their safety.

Emily is the Director & Founder of the Artemisia Academy, and has been studying holistic health for over 15 years. She is a Certified Clinical Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, and Certified Massage Therapist from the Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute. She apprenticed at the Herb Pharm, in Williams, Oregon to learn the skills of herbal farming and product manufacturing. Her hope is to pass on the knowledge of sustainable living with practical entrepreneurial skills so that herbalists can create thriving practices that fully support themselves, their land, and their community.

FAQ'S

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for complete beginners who have never studied plants before, as well aspiring herbalists and holistic practitioners that have already had a fundamental overview herbal training but would like to deepen their knowledge of botany and local plants. If you have already taken botany classes but would like a survey of plants in the Southern California area and its uses, this class would be right up your alley too!

How long do I have access to the course?

How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.

What do I need?

We recommend a couple of books for reference that we recommend for the course. A book & supply list will be sent out upon registration for the course.

 

For distance learners, you will need a computer with streaming video and recording capability, a pair of headphone, the zoom app downloaded on your device, and your enthusiasm to show up and learn!

What if I miss the live class?

Anyone who registers for the class will be given access to the online class portal. All class recordings will be available to watch anytime. Class notes and hand outs will also be posted online, so no matter what, you won’t miss anything!

 

If you work during the day, and still want the live support and coaching from a teacher, don’t worry! We have an online chat so you can still ask questions and get feedback throughout the entire course.
